We’ve all seen those sales videos that often sound stale or tacky. When you see one that is creative and compelling, on the other hand, you are instantly drawn in. There are a few tricks to making effective sales videos, and these few ideas will help you to increase your reach and attract new customers!

  • Stop selling and try teaching
Sometimes, the most effective videos defy the laws of “traditional” marketing. Instead of trying too hard to sell, try providing your audience with some valuable information. Customers are instantly turned away from videos that are too “salesy.” If you inform them with useful information, or teach them how to use something, however, they will respond much better and will want to continue watching your videos. For example, if you are selling kitchenware, make a video creating a meal using those supplies and then use that to sell them!
  • Be trustworthy and authentic
If you want to get your audience to listen to you, you have to come off as genuine and authentic, otherwise, your audience won’t care to keep listening. Start off the video by establishing your brand voice so that it is clear what kind of company you are and the values that you represent. Once the customer understands your brand personality, they will be more open and receptive to what you have to say.
  • Begin with a question
A good way to start an engaging video is with a question. This way, the viewer is engaged right away and you’ve instantly signaled to them that the video is about them and that you have their best interests in mind. It is also important to end the video with a clear call-to-action, so that they know exactly how to fulfill their needs with your product or service.
  • Include your customers
Nothing speaks more to your credibility that having customers give testimonials in your video. Customers trust what those like them have to say, so if you include some loyal customers in your video and have them discuss the value that your products or services have provided them, your target audience will be more likely to trust your brand and what you have to offer.
  • Be brief
People often don’t have a lot of time to watch long dragged-out videos, which is why it’s best to keep them short and sweet. A short video is much more appealing to viewers, and it forces you to concentrate on the more important aspects of what you are trying to sell. Your videos should focus on one product or service at a time so that it is not too overwhelming, and you can always make additional videos if your business sells multiple products or services!

When it comes to making videos, there are definitely some techniques you can use to make them stand out. If you add a video to your website, you are more likely to show up in Google searches, which is amazing for visibility! And, they are much more appealing to viewers than simply reading plain text. So, if you want to increase your conversion rate and grow your customer base, try using some of these tips to improve your videos and really make them stand out.
